OGH Wellness Wednesday

The first Wednesday of each month, from 7:30 am – 11:30 am, Osmond General Hospital offers wellness lab screenings at significantly reduced prices.

“Wellness Wednesday” places the patient in the drivers seat of his or her health by offering specific diagnostic tests without the need for consultation with a medical provider. The wellness screenings that are available are recommended to evaluate your overall health and monitor a wide range of disorders, such as: diabetes, high cholesterol, thyroid disorders, liver and kidney disease, and prostate function.

Basic Panel (CBC, CMP, Lipid, TSH) – $75

PSA – $20

Hgb A1c – $20

EKG – $5

Unfortunately, Medicare nor private insurance will cover these wellness tests because they are not ordered by a medical provider. Payment must be made prior to the test being performed.

All tests include a normal reference range, with abnormal results being indicated by an “H” for results that are above the normal range, and an “L” for results below the normal reference range. It is recommended that you seek medical advice for any result outside of normal range.

No, your provider will not receive a copy of your results. You will receive your results by mail upon completion. It is your responsibility to seek medical advice and share results with your provider.

The laboratory or other hospital staff cannot interpret your results for you. You should contact your medical provider for questions concerning your test results. To make an appointment, please call Osmond General Hospital at 402-748-3393 and ask the receptionist to schedule you for the next available date and what test you would like performed. For most blood tests you will want to fast for 8 hours prior to the test.
